In Leading at a Higher Level , Blanchard and his colleagues have brought together everything they've learned about world-class leadership. You'll discover how to create targets and visions based on the "triple bottom line", and how to make sure people know who you are, where you're going, and what will guide your journey. Blanchard then turns to your customer, extending his breakthrough work on delivering legendary service, creating "raving fans", and developing a true "customer mania". From Daniel H. Pink, the author of the groundbreaking best seller A Whole New Mind , comes his next big idea book: a paradigm-changing examination of what truly motivates us and how to harness that knowledge to find greater satisfaction in our lives and our work.

Knowing what emotional intelligence is and knowing how to use it to improve your life are two very different things. Emotional Intelligence 2. During the last decade, we have witnessed an unparalleled explosion of interest in the practice of "servant-leadership", as today's business leaders search for a new leadership model for the 21st century.

In fact, Greenleaf's work, including his best-selling Servant-Leadership , has become increasingly popular since his death in and continues to inspire a growing movement of people and organizations concerned with issues of leadership, management, service, and spirit.

The Power of Servant Leadership is a collection of nine of Greenleaf's most compelling essays on servant-leadership. These essays, published together in one volume for the first time, contain many of Greenleaf's best insights into the nature and practice of servant-leadership and show his continual refinement of the servant-as-leader concept. In addition, several of the essays focus on the related issues of spirit, commitment to vision, and wholeness. This book is a collection of eight essays by Robert Greenleaf, which were all initially published separately after his seminal book, Servant Leadership.

As such it is sometimes hard to find the thread of servant leadership in each of these essays, and some of them are very dense. In it Greenleaf points to the lack of a unifying idea as the basis for the current leadership crisis and outlines three forms of power leaders can exert: coercive, manipulative, and persuasive. To be honest, I had a hard time getting through this book, possibly for two reasons.

First, I was listening to this as an audio download, and I found it hard to follow. The other reason is that I had very different expectations of this book. It seemed to me that these essays really documented Robert Greenleaf's spiritual journey in his later years rather than expanding on his thesis about servant leadership. I've been reading leadership books for many years, and really couldn't find one that matched my personal style: leading from behind, mentoring employees, and working towards the good of the organization, without worrying about personal rewards.

This is a series of essays based around the concept of the leader as a servant. This is a departure from the usual leadership books, which are usually based on the "alpha male" leadership style. It must be said that this consists of a series of essays that were written for different target groups over a number of years. The specific topics cover corporations, seminaries, colleges, and other non-profits.

The material can get a little repetitive, but in a way that helps reinforce the key concepts, as well as to give insight into the needs of these different institutions. This is a good, though provoking book for those who want to be successful, but at the same time make sure that everyone around you is successful as well.

Got to chapter three and had to turn off. The subject is great but this book drones on an on about what people say about the subject not on the subject. I am all behind, and practice, the concept of Servant Leadership, however, I just could not go very far in this audio book. I found the narration actually tiring to listen to.

The power of being set free

The narrator's tone of voice and cadence made it difficult for me to stay interested in the content. Informative and inspiring I thoroughly enjoyed this audiobook on servant leadership. I'm inspired to read more on the topic. Outstanding collection of Greenleaf essays but it was something off a struggle to get through.

Wonderfully told and lots of lessons learned. There is so much you can learn from this. Absolute must read for business persons. This business philosophy is something that can change your life, change your outcome, change who you are, and do it the right way that is harmonious with your origin and your destiny, and in line with who you are as a person, a being.

In the new creation, this is a term I am using it to distinguish it from physical creation, we find again that God is doing good things. There is a lot of doubt whether what God gives us is the best. Again, we find a body nicely function is beautiful and good. If I have a little mouth sore, I fuss until it gets better. I want it normal.

MidLife Help and Counseling

Normal means I can ignore it and enjoy eating and drinking beverages. They are to be desired. They are good and lovely. With them, our lives are beautiful and wonderful. Without them, we have guilt, loneliness. We are driven by our sins and have problems in our relationships.

People do not know what normalcy is. They figure they have to put up with a bad marriage or fears. The good news, the Gospel truth, is that God has brought a whole other set of good things in this world that can restore us to normalcy. His love through Christ solves all those problems. If they do, they lead you out of bad places. I have to be careful not to eat too many walnuts or I get a mouth sore. The same is true. I say all this that we might give great praise to our God for bringing all these blessings into our lives.

But they are here for us to reach out and obtain. Will you reach out for the very best in life?

God has provided it. We must not fault the Giver. The problem is ours, ours and ours again. God has given us so many good things that they overflow our lives. We simply need to trust Him.

  4. When we begin to see all these very kind things He does, we see He is very different than the God we thought He was. He is not mean or evil. We do not need to fear His words. Our fears actually keep us from accepting His truths into our lives.

We can trust Him. God is worthy of all worship even if He did not kindly treat us. But when we combine His worthy and holy person along with this insight into His love and care for us, the spirit of worship and adoration are lifted very high. Worship has little to do with singing songs we like or with music that we prefer, but from being overwhelmed by the outpouring of His love.

This is the reason He alone is worthy of all glory and praise; He alone is to be blessed. He is the Giver of all good things. His people are the recipients of these blessings We are the recipients. Later in the same verse it is quite clear that those in Christ has been given these good things. If you think it unfair that only those in Christ receive them, then you should recognize that you have an invitation to come to Christ and enjoy them too.
